Shiseido Tsubaki Hair Products

To start things off, Happy Lunar New Year. Hope everyone had a great New Year (I know I did. 3 dinners in one night. Who doesn't love that T__T )
Long time no beauty post (This time won't be about food, I promise)
I discovered this product first when I went to Hong Kong in the winter of 2010. I wanted to try out a higher end of shampoo considering the fact I've never used anything other than Herbal Essences bought in bulk from Costco lol
Words cannot describe how much I love this shampoo. I actually bought both white and red when I did my shopping but the red one was the first one that I used.
I guess I should elaborate on how I feel about the product since people probably come here for reviews on it
I do have quite oily hair. Ergo I wash it every day. The shampoo and conditioner leaves my hair very soft and I don't even know how to describe it. The feeling is just very clean haha. I would totally recommend this to anyone.
This one is Tsubaki Shining. It is meant for normal to oily hair. The white one is meant for damaged hair (which would be me ehehehe ) Normally, you know that super soft feeling in your hair that you get when you rinse out conditioner? Yeah, I felt that with just the shampoo (conditioner didn't make it extra extra soft or anything though *sadface)

Unfortunately for me, I use up shampoo and conditioner (conditioner especially) super fast. I've already been through like 5 bottles of shampoo and 5 bottles of conditioner already since 2 years ago. They DO sell this set at supermarkets around where I live but it's just ridiculously expensive. I mean, who pays $15.99 for a bottle of shampoo that won't even last that long? That's just insane so that's why I normally get relatives to buy it for me when they decide to come over to visit. But recently I ran out of conditioner (like completely out even of the Herbal Essences that I buy in bulk ahaha) I thought that I can't go on for the next little while not using conditioner. My hair is damaged enough as it is so I went to the supermarket today and bought another Shiseido conditioner that I saw on sale for 12.99 (still expensive but I really really need one)

It's this one. Not too sure how many of you guys have heard of it. "Shiseido Moist Hair Pack" I'm hoping that this product could save my hair just a little bit (or at least my ends). If anyone's curious I'll do a short post on it if you'd like (or a comment). I'll be using this product tomorrow morning anyway.

Dedication to Food

So I think this post is completely dedicated to food (mindyou, MOST all happened today. Just imagine how many pounds I gained from today)

I think yesterday afternoon was the first time I lined up an hour to buy food. Normally, I wouldn't waste my time with something like this but there was a grand opening of this store at the food court that I really really wanted to try.

So this is the place that I wanted to try, "Saboten".  Basically, their specialty is deep fried pork cutlet and shrimp. (They only had 10 items on the menu and all of them include either pork or shrimp ahaha)
And this is the set that I ordered. I think that this pork was the best pork I've ever had in my life. No joke. It was amazing. I'm definitely going to eat there again.

Anyway, it is now 2:32am and I just got home from intense food shopping day. After work this morning, I went out with a friend to the mall and bought a Red Velvet cupcake (yes, I am aware that is probably the most fattening cupcake out there too ._. ) Not going to upload the picture though because the lighting was pretty bad.

Here's the cupcake display though. I guess you can kind of see the cupcake I bought (in the bottom left of the picture)

I also bought these Japanese chocolates from "La Chocolaterie" (website right..... here)

I normally go for their matcha chocolate but I decided to give this one a try. It's just a pack of 6 with 6 different flavours (none of which I can remember other than blueberry, mango, and earl grey)

So afterwards, I went out to dinner with family, then went out again with other friends for fondue at a place called Capstone.

The food was so adorable, I couldn't resist taking pictures nonstop. Then somehow somewhere, my friends and I somehow decided to do some late-night karaoke, bringing my night to an end at 2:30 ahaha. Before I pass out on my keyboard I am going to go to bed (as I still have work tomorrow morning. Let's see how functional I am) I hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll post again soon (hopefully something beauty-related this time eh?)

Bloggers, sympathize with me

I find that now I blog, I am ALWAYS thinking of my blog. Does this happen to anyone else? Every time I go out or see something interesting, I always consider putting it in my blog or taking a picture so I can blog about it. Ahaha I'm sure I can't be the only blogger that feels this way.

Anyway, moving on, has anyone tried out the Stila Lip Glazes? Leave a few comments telling me about it.
I have tried it a few times as a sample and I found out the colour that fits me best is Strawberry. It actually looks pretty natural on my lips. (Yes, I know it's super red but I guess I have naturally red lips? I don't know)
Yeah, I want to get some more positive feedback before I shell out $29 for a lip gloss. (That's how much they have it at Sephora for). It just really doesn't seem like it's that worth it.

Has anyone ever heard of this BB cream? I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before but I swear, it has saved my skin's life. It is meant for acne-prone skin (so I'm not too sure if it has medication in it or not) but I love just about everything about this BB cream.
1) Even though I'm pretty tan for the Asian demographic that uses BB creams, this cream blends to my colour completely
2) It's not oily. That is probably a MUST in any of my skincare products. I can not afford to be breaking out because of a product that's supposed to be making me look better
3) Doesn't smell weird. It's scentless which I'm sure its supposed to be but I always imagine foundations or BB creams to have a weird smell which is usually a turnoff for me

Well, this was one short post. I don't really have anything else to say other than I'll be trying out the My Beauty Diary Snail Mask later tonight (I'm actually "doing my homework" right now so I should probably get to that sometime soon)

** I THINK I have done a post on this BB cream before too.... It's in my tags but I'm not sure from where  ahahaha **

Let it Snow...

Canada weather is insane. It's mid-January and it FINALLY begun to snow. It hasn't all winter until now and it was a freak storm last night too. Around 12 am there was a giant hailstorm and it was super loud too.
I went out for lunch with a friend today. I believe this was a BBQ Pork Ramen. It was a bit of a stretch for me because I normally get the Assorted Vegetables Ramen. I think I'll just go back to that one next time. This one is not worth the extra money (plus I still prefer veggies over meat)
ahaha this was my typing speed test. A friend challenged me and I took the challenge. I beat him by one word ;D
Used Gachapon balls that I've saved up since .... forever.
Delicious crepe that nearly dripped onto my phone.
Weird art that I did back in elementary school. From the looks of it, I believe it's a mother holding her baby? I'm not too familiar with tribal art.

Anyway, it was a long day and I did a lot of cleaning in my room, I will make more posts soon so talk to you guys later

More of My Beauty Diary

To start the post off, more pictures of sunrises/sunsets. This one was taken about half an hour ago so it was today's sunset. (It's already like pitch black outside. Proves to show how fast the day ends during the winter season)

And my My Beauty Diary Collection. I bought a pack of 16 today. The box says it's the 2011 All-in-One pack. I can't actually find a picture of the box on the internet though. I can only find the "Alice in Wonderland" set boxes but not the one that I got today. (Mine is pink and has a mailbox on the front)
The 16th mask that it came with was an "bonus" and it is called the Snail Mask.
It says that: My Beauty Diary Snail mask is  2 step Autumn Repair Pack with Snail repair cream made of snail extract & Broccoli extract. Snail extract is the most popular extract used in Korea skincare products now. Suitable for all skin types, especially for dry and sensitive skin, helps to firm, nourish and regenerates skin.

That itself already sounds kind of weird to me to be honest. "Snail extract"? ..... but I'm going to give it a try. Mine also is the 2-step Autumn Repair Pack meaning that it also comes with a cream to put on after the mask. Its supposed to help "lock in" the moisturizing effect of the mask. If it's any good, I'll make a post about it.... maybe.

Mini Marshmallows :)

... sorry, I couldn't think of any more relevant title and it's what I'm eating at the moment. Does anyone actually know what marshmallows are made out of? I've never once questioned that in my life. I think I decided to believe at one point that they were made out of sunshine and rainbows.... hm.... reading the ingredients would probably scare me so I'm not going to do that

So this is... me. At school. I probably need to start paying more attention in class. All I've been doing lately is playing a new mah-jong app that I downloaded off of iTunes ...

Oh yeah, to explain this picture. Where I live, we kind of have a Snow Geese problem ahaha. I have no idea where they all came from but they very recently moved from the back field of my school to this tiny strip of grass near the front. They probably ran out of stuff to eat or something.
Today's lunch :D surprisingly wasn't as nom-licious as I thought it would be. The noodles and seaweed were pretty good though. (Oh yeah I should probably explain what that giant black mass is....) This is seaweed + squid balls + noodles in soup

And also part of my lunch is .... a cream puff! I swear, if Beard Papa's sold just their custard (like the fillings for the cream puffs) I would totally buy them. It would make the perfect pudding since it's not too sweet

This is what I do to slave through school. My grande Mocha in a Venti cup. Mocha's always have a lot of foam and almost always, the foam bursts out of the lid and onto whatever clothes I'm wearing. Story of my life. That is why I get a Venti cup. That eliminates the problem. (The second problem is keeping it hot. I get this for school, yet its already all cold and nasty BY the time I get to school. I have heard about getting it extra hot though. I'll try that next time)

And this would be yesterday morning's sunrise. The colours were so pretty I was just staring while walking by on the crosswalk.

Sorry to everyone if this post was kind of weird. One of the purposes of my blog is for myself to look back on this years from now so meaningless posts like these are probably for meant for me. Once I find something more interesting to talk about, I'll blog it but for now, we're all stuck with these pointless posts ;D

Sweet Lolita

Those who know me in real life would know that I like anything cute and sweet looking. I haven't been that into it lately but a while back I was really into making Deco Cases for phones and calculators and everything. so I thought I'd share a bit of that.

A lot of this stuff is commissioned and some of it was just for myself and for fun. Deco is quite pricey and hard to find where I live so that's probably the only reason why I stopped recently. Sorry for the terrible quality of these pictures but most of them were taken with my old phone so... hence the blurryness.

I still am quite obsessed with Sweet Lolita, I think it's absolutely adorable. Though I probably like anything floral, and frilly. Maybe that's why I think Liz Lisa is one of the greatest brands out there.

I have yet another product to invest in. A new wallet! Preferably this Samantha Thavasa wallet ;___; it's gorgeous isn't it? Gosh I hate going window shopping. I always find things that I like but would never be able to afford.

Before I get way too ahead of myself, I'll end off the post right here. Once again,

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

Hey everyone. I thought it was about time I talked about another product (I've been skipping so many days lately blogging because of either: a) I'm too tired to do anything OR b) school) luckily for me it's usually just A. Well this product I've heard about a lot and how it does wonders for people with acne-prone skin. I do have acne-prone skin if you didn't know already but it isn't actually that bad. I don't really get those giant, red, bulging ones anymore so whatever is on my face is just the aftermath of not taking care of my skin from 2/3 years ago. Well, I decided to give this product a go so hear me out on this one :D

So if you look up a summary, it says something along the lines of "drying up pimples, shrinking away pores, and washing away blackheads"
Honestly? This product also wasn't as good as I thought it would be but maybe I'm just not giving it a chance since I've only used it once.
This product comes in a tube (as you can see from the picture) and the product itself is a light green colour.... imagine mint ice cream. You're supposed to let it dry on your face for 20-30 minutes and then rinse it off. I tried that the other night and I didn't really see any difference...? But one thing's for sure, this thing is a pimple magnifier. When the mask is dried on your face, every blemish, EVERY pore, is visible. Scared the crap out of me when I looked in the mirror.
Washing the mask off was quite a chore too. I feel like it clung to my face.

I'm not going to finish this review as I will give the mask a few more tries but after I do, I'll finish updating this post with my final comments.

Gosh, I love going to Hong Kong-styled restaurants for breakfast. The milk tea at this one place I go to is delish but pricey. (It's fine as long as you order the drink as an add-on to your meal. Otherwise each cup is around $3 which is absolutely ridiculous)

So anyway, I found this really awesome sounding band called ワッフルズ (Waffles)
especially the songs in their album "Ballooner" which I've actually tried getting my hands on many times. I managed to find this song in the iTunes store .jp but since it wouldn't even let me buy the album because I'm from Canada. I swear that has to be some kind of discrimination or something. Music that good has to be shared with everyone ;_____; So if anyone finds a download link or anything, please let me know? ;D

Sunday 8 January 2012

I love Kittens :)

Oh how I love animals. I went to the pet store today and I went to check out one of their cats that was in the display.
Isn't she cute? Yeah, I had a shopping day today with a friend and we went to so many places. I also saw the most gorgeous dress when we went dress shopping. I thought it was a wedding dress but the person working there had told me that it was supposed to be a prom dress. Ahahaha you tell me. What do you think it looks like? (It actually looks exactly like the type of wedding dress I would want to get except mine would be in cream and not mauve)

Moving on, I bought a bunch of stuff myself too. I re-bought Dream Girls BB Blemish Balm by Skin79. I have been using it so much more recently and I actually think it has been helping clear up my skin. I'm sure there's no medication in it or anything but this type is meant for people with acne-prone skin so maybe...?

I also bought 2 new Popteen magazines, the December2011 and January 2012 editions, and I also bought a shirt from Giordano that was on sale for $5CAD. It's one of those really baggy free-sized shirts with the awkward sleeves. (Yeknow, its basically a parka but with holes for your arms to stick through?)

Anyway, my friend also bought me a tea cup for my birthday. (If you're reading this...) Melissa, I loveee youuu ;D It's this one from Indigo that comes with a sifter
Looks nice right? :D I now have a proper tea sifter that isn't from the dollar store (gross ._. )

I guess I'll post again sometime soon. I still have a lot of schoolwork to do that's due tomorrow. Procrastination OTL I'm....so screwed. This one thing I can't put off at all because basically, if I don't have it done by tomorrow, I don't graduate. Yeah, failhard right there.

Mimi Cafe Series Contact Lens

Hey everyone. So I got another pair of cons from my friend two days ago. I had ordered it from her before the winter holiday and I managed to get it yesterday. The one I got is Macchiato from the Mimi Cafe Series

So this is the series and

...these are the ones I have. I'm still wearing them right now and I've had these in since 6:30am. I know that's probably super bad for me but my eyes aren't the type to be bothered by contacts. I've never even experienced dry eyes before (hm...maybe I have and didn't realize? Not likely though) Well, these ones have been in for 15 hours and they still feel totally fine but speaking of which, I should probably take them off sometime soon ahaha

So this is what the lens looks like when it's not on. (15mm) I actually think it looks so cool. The pattern is really pretty. Too bad it's not that noticable on the eye actual eye though.

And this is what it looks like on my eye.... Sorry for the creepy closeup but its for the picture's sake. This was the best photo I could take and it was in the room with the most natural lighting too (my bathroom ahaha)

I decided to pick these lens because the other two that I have are pretty light coloured. One is Vivian: Pineapple Series (the picture I'm showing is the grey one but that's because I couldn't find a big enough picture for purple)

And the other one I have is ....

Queenie Super Angel Brown. I felt like these two were really bold and very in-your-face so I decided to back down with a natural, dark brown. (Didn't turn out as natural as I thought though because of the black ring on the outside) At least the Mimi Cafe's aren't 17.2mm like the two that I already have.

Comparing the three, I would put them in these orders
1) Queenie (Too use to these ones to completely stop using them. They're super comfy)
2) Mimi (surprisngly good. Natural. Comfortable)
3) Vivian (Vivian being last because of how uncomfortable they are)
